Port Stephens Council Tree Application Form
Within Port Stephens City Council there are some guidelines where approval is not required for the removal of trees on residential blocks. To remove a tree without approval, the tree must:
- Be located within five metres of the structural wall of your house, neighbouring house, pool, water tank, garage and/or any other council approved structure. Take the measurement from the closest point of the trunk to the footings of the structure
- Have a circumference at breast height not greater than 450 millimetres for a single trunk tree or not greater than 300 millimetres for each trunk of a multi-trunk tree
- Be dead and not provide a habitat for hollow-dependent fauna.
For any trees that don’t meet these guidelines, a application to council is necessary. Branch Management can provide you with a free quote, council advice and can fill out your application forms for you. Please ring Shelley on 0419 289 223.
